Bask in the life-giving energy of the sun with Sunburst, a striking privacy screen by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Brent Smith from Cape Mudge. This design honours the warmth, healing, and peace of the sun, while reflecting the powerful story of Raven bringing light to the world.
In the beginning, the world was held in darkness. The sun had been hidden away, kept from the people and the earth. Raven, clever and determined, transformed into a tiny hemlock needle and slipped into the water of the chief’s daughter. After being swallowed, Raven was born into the chief’s house, where the precious boxes of light were kept. Through patience, courage, and trickery, Raven eventually freed the sun and returned its warmth and brilliance to the world.
With bold rays radiating from the sun, Sunburst captures this moment of transformation, bringing cultural depth, celestial beauty, and a sense of peace to any outdoor space.

DIY Framing

PVC and HDPE should be framed on all 4 sides

Minimum 1" x 1" lumber or metal recommended

Sandwich method recommended for a secure fit

Groove or dado systems can work when the panel fits very snugly with minimal movement

Avoid loose-fitting channels that allow the panel to shake or rattle over time

ACM can be framed in any style or installed without full framing
Shipping Recommendation
For 3' x 6' panels and larger, ACM or HDPE are recommended for shipped orders due to their durability in transit.
Production Time
Each screen is crafted to order on Vancouver Island and is not mass produced.
Please allow 1–2 weeks for production before shipping.
Production spots fill quickly, especially during peak season.
