Design: Breaching Humpback

Artist: Amanda Hall

Breaching Humpback by Amanda Hall captures one of the most unforgettable sights on the Pacific coast: a humpback whale breaking the surface in a powerful breach. The design freezes that incredible moment in time, bringing the energy, movement, and sheer scale of these remarkable animals into your outdoor space.

For anyone who has been lucky enough to see a humpback in the wild, the experience is hard to forget. Their return to the waters around Vancouver Island has made them an especially meaningful part of our coastal landscape, and this design celebrates that connection to the ocean right at home.

The substantial coverage throughout the panel provides excellent privacy, while the openings that form the whale and surrounding water allow light and glimpses of the landscape to become part of the scene.

Whether overlooking the ocean or bringing a little of the coast to your own backyard, Breaching Humpback creates a striking focal point and captures some of the wonder of seeing these giants in the wild.

Installation & Framing

Frame Kits

Free-standing aluminum frame kits available
Non-permanent and movable
Ideal for strata, rentals, or simple installations

DIY Framing

PVC and HDPE should be framed on all 4 sides
Minimum 1" x 1" lumber or metal recommended
Sandwich method recommended for a secure fit
Groove or dado systems can work when the panel fits very snugly with minimal movement
Avoid loose-fitting channels that allow the panel to shake or rattle over time
ACM can be framed in any style or installed without full framing

Shipping Recommendation

For 3' x 6' panels and larger, ACM or HDPE are recommended for shipped orders due to their durability in transit.
