CORE’s elastomer-enhanced plastic blend allows the 65-40 grid to flex rather than fracture under load.
In practical terms, this means that when heavy vehicles perform tight or stationary turns, the shear forces are absorbed through controlled movement in the cell walls instead of being transferred as stress. The grid flexes with the tire, rather than resisting it.
That controlled flexibility is critical. It prevents cracking, reduces long-term fatigue, and allows the system to perform reliably in high-shear environments like turning trucks, equine traffic, and other demanding applications.
Forgiving connections
65-40 is the only system designed without integrated connections. Instead, individual panels are joined using driven H-clips.
This isn’t a limitation, it’s intentional. By separating the connection from the panel, the system allows for controlled movement between grids. That added tolerance prevents stress from concentrating at fixed connection points.
The result is a foundation that can flex at the joints under load, rather than fighting it. This reduces the risk of connection failure and makes 65-40 particularly well-suited for high-shear applications like turning vehicles and dynamic loads.
